Hi, Pet Alameda team! I found you while searching for pet shops in Curitiba. The profile is active, but I couldn't find what services you offer in the bio. I work as a social media manager and wanted to show you how to make that clear right at the top of the profile.

How to find Instagram profiles by niche when the app's search doesn't cut it

Instagram's search is built for people looking for a specific account or trending content. For prospecting, what matters is the opposite: businesses your size, in your region, that you don't know yet. A filter by business type and follower range returns exactly that list, sorted and with a history of what you've already seen.

  • Business type and follower range replace scrolling through Explore.
  • The list remembers what's already shown up, so it doesn't repeat it as new.
  • A repeated profile doesn't generate a new lead charge.
Profile search / in practice

How to choose the right follower range

Very small accounts usually don't have a budget; very large accounts usually already have a team. The sweet spot between your service and a possible client is almost always in the middle, and it varies by niche and by region. Test two ranges before settling on your filter.

  • Compare two ranges in the same business type and see which responds more.
  • Factor in the region: local niches have smaller accounts.
  • Followers don't indicate revenue or intent to hire.

04 / BEFORE YOU START

Questions from people who
want to move from research
to the conversation.

Can I filter by city?

You can, when the profile says where it's located. For a tight regional filter, Google Maps search is more precise — and both live in the same dashboard, with the same lead list.

Where does the data come from?

From what the profile itself shows publicly: followers, posts, bio and link. No private accounts, nothing you wouldn't see by opening the app.

Does a repeated profile use up credit again?

No. A profile that has already shown up in one of your searches comes back with no new credit charge for the lead. You never pay twice for the same contact.

How many profiles come up per search?

The amount depends on the plan you choose. Check the plans table for per-search limits and included credits.
